1. About this policy
This policy explains how MatchDayData ("we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you use matchdaydata.au, ask for a quote or buy from us. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
2. What we collect
Contact details: your name, email address, phone number and the club, school or organisation you represent.
Order details: billing, delivery and installation addresses, what you asked about or bought, and our messages with you.
Site details you give us, such as photos, measurements and access notes for an installation.
Payment details are handled by our payment provider. We do not see or store your full card number.
Technical details: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit, and the cookies described below.
3. How we collect it
Mostly from you directly, when you fill in a form, create an account, check out, email or call us. Some technical details are collected automatically by our servers and cookies. We may also receive details from people you authorise to deal with us, such as your installer, engineer or venue manager.
4. Why we use it
To prepare quotes; supply, deliver, install and support your screens; take payments; run your account; answer your questions; handle warranty claims; keep the site secure and prevent fraud; improve the site; meet our tax and legal obligations; and, where you have agreed or the law allows, tell you about our products.
5. Who we share it with
Only with those who need it to do the job: payment processors, freight and courier companies, installers, electricians, engineers and other subcontractors, our hosting, IT and email providers, and our accountants, lawyers and insurers. We may also share it with a debt collector if an account is overdue, or with authorities when the law requires.
We do not sell your personal information.
6. Overseas storage
Our store and customer records are kept on servers in Australia. Some providers we use, such as payment and email services, may store or process information overseas, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to make sure they protect it.
7. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep your cart, region and sign-in working. We do not currently use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can block cookies in your browser, but the cart and checkout may then stop working.
8. Marketing
We only send marketing messages where you have agreed or the law allows it. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to stop at any time.
9. Security and how long we keep it
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including encrypted connections and restricted access to our systems.
We keep information only as long as we need it, including for warranty periods and the 5 years that tax records must be kept. After that we delete it or remove identifying details.
10. Access and correction
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or to correct it. We will respond within 30 days. If we cannot give you access, for a reason the law allows, we will tell you why.
11. Data breaches
If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and, where the law requires, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
12. Complaints
If you have a privacy concern, contact us first and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
